Sometimes we think that justice and grace are opposite expressions of God, as Psalm 30:5 poetically suggests—“For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime”—but if we aren’t careful, we might suggest that justice is God’s anger, love is God’s favor, and the two wrestle for dominance within the divine. How do grace and justice dance and where do we step into the movement?
