We plan and God laughs. Sunday’s scripture is from Paul’s second missionary journey. Paul’s plan was to revisit all the churches he saw during his first missionary journey. God had other ideas. God leads Paul’s team in a new direction, from Asia into Europe, to bring them into a new mission field. Although the people and places are new, Paul discovers God is already at work in this place and he’s joining in the work that God had already begun, where God was waiting to meet him. God calls us to places that may be strange to us, but it’s an invitation to join in God’s work in ways we hadn’t imagined.
