United Against Racism will begin the video series Vital Conversations on Realities of Race and Racism on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Participants will watch the short video and meet virtually for discussion from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday. The series encourages dialogue to move toward spiritual, community, and social transformation and was selected based on survey results from those who completed the Dismantling Racism workshop.
Vital Conversations features contemporary theologians, sociologists, laity, clergy, and other thought-leaders dealing with challenges of race, culture, and oppression in the church and world today. The videos (ranging from 11-20 minutes) are presented by the General Commission on Race and Religion of The United Methodist Church.
Anyone interested is encouraged to participate. Please register as soon as possible and the links to the video and Zoom call will be sent by email. This will provide time to watch the video before the virtual gathering.
Because of the great response thus far, additional slots have been added to the SignUp Genius. All participants will gather on Zoom at the same time and then break off into separate virtual rooms for discussion.
