You’re invited to join us in decoding psalms and spirituals, and what it means to honor diverse traditions within the body of Christ as part of our ongoing United Against Racism initiative.

Hannah Rachal, Director of Traditional Music, produced a webinar with speakers Sarah Bilaye-Benibo (M.S.M. from Perkins School of Theology and Music Director at Embassy Suites Church in Dallas) and Garth Baker-Fletcher (M.S.M. and Christian Composer) focusing on the topics of spirituals, worship as a primer for doing the work of the gospel, liberation, and more.

Through the video, and group discussion Wednesday, August 26, we will explore the coded meanings found in spirituals, the hope found in God’s goodness, and how we can learn from these sources to better race relations in the present.

The newly formed United Against Racism group is open to anyone interested. They are meeting virtually on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The webinar link will be sent to the United Against Racism email group. Email [email protected] to receive the webinar link. Use the Zoom link below to join in the discussion.
