We’re Better Together!

Pastor Clay shares some celebrations that you’ll want to hear! Check out his video and then read highlights of our ministry these past seven weeks. We have made many positive connections, expanded our ministry to others, and have been blessed by God during these uncertain times of COVID-19. We are grateful for your continued faithfulness and generosity.

Celebrating Our Ministry Together

While we have not been able to meet in person, we have continued to live out our mission of building life-giving relationships thanks to your commitment to our ministries. We wanted to share some highlights.

  • Transitioned in-person worship to at-home worship through YouTube video playlist.
  • Conducted personal phone calls and email check-ins of church family by the Congregational Care Team.
  • Created Family Fun at 4 on Zoom for children’s activities, United 345 gatherings, and Facebook Live for storytime and baking resurrection rolls.
  • Transitioned children’s, youth, and adult Sunday School classes and small groups to online Zoom gatherings.
  • Initiated thanksgiving videos as part of online worship to highlight how families are blessed by our church.
  • Produced special Praise Team videos for Easter Sunday and new music videos weekly.
  • Transitioned weekly choir and chimes rehearsals to online gatherings.
  • Created Vista Ridge UMC Spotify playlist.
  • Conducted churchwide communion during Holy Week on Zoom.
  • Continued offering worship notes and scripture on Bible app.
  • Met on Facebook Live during Holy Week for scripture and prayer time.
  • Gathered on Zoom for a family meal from home for Maundy Thursday.
  • Conducted self-paced Journey of the Stations of the Cross for Good Friday.
  • Engaged youth and college-aged students to read weekly scripture for worship service.
  • Created Zoom meeting to go deeper in discussion with worship series topic.
  • Expanded communication efforts with transition of existing Ministry Assistant position to Director of Communications and Marketing.
  • Donated 29 Easter baskets filled by our Classic Women for women and children staying at the Denton County Friends of the Family shelter.
  • Continued support of CCA Food Pantry with volunteers performing drive-through loading of groceries to angel vehicles.
  • Maintained volunteer program of picking up bread and produce at local grocery stores for delivery to the CCA Food Pantry.
  • Awarded $500 grant from North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church for online worship enhancements.
  • Identified utilities and services that can be reduced, postponed or deferred, such as janitorial, landscaping, exterminator, copier and phones.
  • Reduced maintenance expenses of church grounds through church members volunteering to mow, edge, weed, mulch and trim shrubs.
